Why choose counselling?

Counselling provides clients with a safe, supportive and confidential space to talk to a trained professional about problems and concerns. As a counsellor, I will help you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you develop a clearer understanding of yourself and others.

I abide by the ethical framework of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) which means I am committed to continual professional development and regular supervision to ensure I can offer excellence in my practice.

I am trained to work both short and long term and during an initial consultation, we would discuss what you feel would be most appropriate and helpful.

My Experience.

I have experience of working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar, borderline personality disorder, dissociative identity disorder, self harm, suicidal ideation, fractured relationships, abuse, bullying, bereavement and loss.

I have also worked in supportive roles with children and vulnerable people and have a particular affinity for building strong relationships with young people based on trust and mutual respect.

I have a wealth of experience in relationship counselling. As a couples counsellor, my aim is to facilitate change and bring about a resolution by helping you both communicate more effectively and reach your own conclusions under professional guidance.

I am approved by the PFOA (Police Firearms Officers Association) to work with forces personnel, helping them to process trauma and manage its wider impact on life and personal relationships.

I work closely with Walking With The Wounded veterans charity to support our veterans and their families.

I have lived and worked in many different countries and have extensive experience of different cultures, lifestyles, languages and people. Consequently, I have a genuine interest and understanding of people from all walks of life which helps me to see and appreciate each client as a unique individual.

I have experienced the power of counselling in my own life and am motivated by a firm belief that everyone has the capacity within them for growth and change.
